1.30.06

We are finally on the road to wellness here, after just over a week of colds/coughs/aches/etc. I still have a small cough lingering, as does Maegan, and Miss Anna-Kate has quite the cough still but other than that we're doing pretty well. Ryan seems to have missed the brunt of it so far, thank goodness.
The girls are doing so well! Maegan had a rough few days last week, 3 days of WW3 here in our house. She was just plain difficult, that's the only way i can explain it. But since then she's been wonderful! She's learning to not say "no" to Mommy and Daddy, and that she needs to "listen to mommy and daddy." (a phrase she repeats a lot.) She and Ellie played together on Saturday night and after Ellie left ryan and i just sat here looking at each other saying, "I can't believe they got along. They didn't fight at all. I can't believe it." They were both so nice and not even ONCE did we have to intervene!!! Amazing.
Maegan's currently in love with her new book that our neighbor gave her- "Five Little Monkey's Jumping on the Bed." She likes to reprimand the monkeys when they jump- "Uh oh, monkey's jumping on the bed. No jumping on the bed." We've also been doing a bit of finger painting lately, she really likes making handprints and seeing mommy make handprints.
We've begun preparing her for our Florida trip which is in just 18 days! She says that yes, she does want to ride on the airplane so cross your fingers that she doesn't freak out when we go to board :) I've already gathered quite a few new items to take on the plane with us, in hopes that they will occupy her and keep her from freaking out.

Anna-Kate is as wonderful as ever. I can't believe she'll be 4 weeks old already tomorrow. She now weighs 8 lb 12 oz, so still much smaller than Maegan was at birth! That's just so funny to me. She is becoming more alert every day, and is really just very pleasant. She just lies and looks around her when she's awake, and on occasion lets out a little squawk when she's hungry. She's definitely not a crier, not at this point anyway.
She's such a pretty little baby, she has the most gorgeous little face, eyes, eyelashes, lips. I just can't believe how perfect and beautiful she is!
