Aren't babies supposed to sleep MORE as they get older? I think that's the biggest myth of motherhood! :) You might guess that anna-kate is still sleeping poorly, and that is the truth. So poorly that i went out and bought a book on how to get my kid to sleep more. It's actually the same book i read when maegan was a baby and i was trying to get her to sleep more- go figure! Guess I need to really read it this time.
Maegan had a big moment this week- she drew her first face! Complete with eyes, nose, mouth and cheeks! Today she drew another one and added ears to it. Quite the accomplishment, as this is the skill a 4 year old needs to master. She's years ahead of herself! :) (I know i'm bragging, but if i don't brag about her here on her own blog, who will?!)
Potty training still stinks...literally. The kid will not go #2 on the potty to save her life. We bribed her with sucker, going to Jungle Bungle and reading books on the potty last night and still she refuses. We'll get there.
Easter was a HUGE success. I mean, what isn't fun about finding eggs and opening them up to find candy inside? Nothing! It's pure fun and maegan thoroughly enjoyed herself. I can't wait to tell her we have another egg hunt this weekend with my Mom's group. Because of weather she didn't get to do an outdoor egg hunt at Easter, so this should be extra fun for her.

I wish I had some more exciting news to report about miss anna-kate but she's really just so darn cute but how many times can i talk about her cuteness without being classified as one of 'those' moms? :) She's not rolling much yet, she doesn't have any teeth yet, she *did* say HI last night but we think it was a total fluke, she doesn't eat anything yet, so truthfully she's pretty boring other than her CUTENESS. She is called a little doll quite often because she literally looks like a little doll! No joke.

Spring is here! Thank God!!! (seriously, thank Him. We soooo needed spring!)

It's funny how a new season brings such joy into our lives. I think we are all happier people when the weather is nice! I know Maegan is happier. She just loves to be outside. Ryan brought out all her favorite outdoor toys and she had a blast this weekend. And then today I took her to Rocket Park and she had a fabulous time there. She was chasing boys! But shhhh! Don't tell her daddy! :)

I've uploaded a cute video of Anna-Kate doing her talking. She's quite the talker, talks much more than Maegan ever did. She loves to be baby-talked to, where Maegan preferred to talk big-people talk. She's also found her tongue and likes to stick it out a lot. Click here to see the video. The "ooo ooooh ooo ooooohs" at the end are Maegan :)

4.2.06

well...yes...i did jinx myself.

Maegan is no longer using the potty :( Actually she's still using it a bit, but just not happily like she was before. She will still tell us about 1/2 the time, which i guess is better than never. Oh well, 2 steps forward, 3 steps back right?

Maegan's imagination is growing by leaps and bounds right now. We bought some wooden blocks like our PAT coordinator, Melissa, suggested and Maegan just loves them. We build lots of stuff, and I'm really impressed with how well she plays with them. Melissa was talking about how to use the blocks to represent other things, and Maegan has definitely caught onto that concept. She loves to build a house and then have all her family members come in (family members played by the blocks, of course.) it's really quite cute. I love to see what order she brings them in, it's like a window into her mind at that moment. Tonight it was Grandma Kathy first, then Grandpa Jim. Then Maegan (the block) came in, and Maegan (the kid) said "Missed you!" to Grandma and Grandpa. How cute is that?! After them came Uncle Bart, then Auntie Kerin and then Alabama (their dog.) Kids just crack me up.
Last week we started a new class, Music for 2.5-3.5 year olds. Maegan had a fabulous time! I'm quite impressed so far (after 1 class :P) Not many things can grab and hold onto Maegan's attention, but this did.

Funny things Maegan has said lately:
1. "That's enough! Do you need a time out?" (She's said this to Marley and Anna-Kate. I think she's trying to show her dominance!)
2. "Poopy's gross."
3. "Maegan loves cake."
4. "Anna-Kate, see Maegan's hair?" (as she shoves her head right into anna-kate's face!)

Anna-Kate is sleeping poorly again. We have matching undereye circles to prove it :) The girl just likes to eat too much, and can only go about 3 hours before she wakes up and needs to fill her tummy. She's pretty small though, so I can't blame her. Good thing she's so cute, i'm blinded by her beauty even at 3:00 am.

Anna-Kate turns 3 months old tomorrow. Where has the time gone? I have no idea. She's getting her pictures done on Wednesday, in her Easter dress, with her sister who will be wearing a MATCHING Easter dress. Yes, I am putting my girls in matching clothes and i am sooo excited :) Ryan says someday they will hate me. I say I don't care, at least when they hate me I'll have a picture of them wearing the same dress.
